AMAZING Fusion restaurant! And ALL vegan!! Will definitely be back to fulfill my cravings for these flavorful dishes. Bring friends so you can order more from the menu to share & experience multiple items on the menu :)
we ordered Banh Xeo Tacos, Taiwanese crispy basil popcorn chicken, chili oil wontons, “Egg” Noodle Stir-fry, and the Jackfruit + Okra Curry! The Hibiscus Spritzer & Butterfly Pea Tea Latte was a lovely compliment to the whole meal also. Can’t wait to come back & try more!
My friends and I enjoyed an awesome lunch at Shyama Vegan South East Asian Fusion Restaurant (Kitchen) in Canoga Park recently. As I walked in, I noticed the place had an open layout with an eclectic, oriental, vibrant, peaceful feel with nice greenery and interesting art. There is a cool music corner with instruments where bands play. It was good to know that the owner and Head Chef, Vivian, hosts different types of cultural events there that spot lights uniquely delicious food and diverse local sounds. My friends and I loved everything we ordered, beginning with the Chai Latte and Butterfly Pea tea. It was also my first time trying chlorophyll infused water. Our waiter, Gaura, was super kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the Manchurian fries with meatballs & savory gravy – WOW – those disappeared fast! The Prawn Toast with light sautéed crispy curry leaves was such a savory combo of tastes and textures. As a sometimes meat eater, I was really impressed by those vegan prawns. I think my favorite was the Banh Xeo Tacos with jicama, (not) beef in a crispy crepe…with avocado, and another one of Vivian’s unique sauces that are just amazing. We also had the Popcorn Chicken with Taiwanese crispy basil leaves. The crispy batter outside and yummy soft, warm (not) chicken inside was just the right balance, and we ate that up really fast, too! I can’t wait to go back and check out their noodles and soups! or their Kimchi Bacon Burger. Vivian and Gaura provided really super customer service and the music playing had a continuous cool and eclectic vibe. There was quite a variety of delicious and flavorful sauces that Vivian concocted for the different dishes, which she emphasizes are all prepared with love. She truly has a special culinary gift and it was such a pleasure to dine there. Go check it out, and if you can, donate to their GoFundMe page to help keep this young business in business!
Best vegan spot in the valley! The food is incredible and we really enjoyed eating here. Everything is a 10/10. Please come try eating here. You will love it!
‘Fusion’ is thrown around a lot at restaurants, especially in Southern California, but SHYAMA delivers with creative, thoughtful, delicious Asian fusion dishes.
Mostly Vietnamese, but with twists and combinations that go beyond my food knowledge. Every dish ordered was delicious and fresh. I’m really excited to get back to try more and I look forward to seeing what else they come up with!
It’s also beautiful inside. Put this place on your want-to-go list.
OMG this place is a hidden GEM! Vietnamese family owned restaurants! The Vegan Fusion handmade dishes are so heavenly. Definitely recommend that you try this amazing restaurant out. Food here is made with love and intention for your healthy mind and body
