Always a joy to visit Simply Wholesome. Great products for the Mind Body and Soul!
I have never been to Simply wholesome but, I do order from their store online. Each package I have received is packed with care and they even add free samples. I always get my product in a timely fashion. I am not only satisfied with the product but also the community I experience VIA USPS. That says a lot. Thank you!
What a wonderful place! We loved the music/ vibe! I highly recommend going here and trying the Caribbean Enchiladas! Great service even when it is busy!
This is definitely one of my favorite places to go. Be it a quick smoothie or Jamaican pie or a nice lunch or a full dinner. The variety is great and I always have to take a dessert with me. In addtion to a great food the market store and book collection is there for you too.
It's often hard to find a restaurant that puts equal care into their veg or vegan dishes as their meat dishes–that's not the case at Simply Wholesome. My first time eating at Simply Wholesome was at 8pm on a Friday. It was quite busy, but vibrant would be a better word: lots of people, friendly conversations, and nice music playing.
I waited in line for a few minutes to place my order of blackened tofu, with plantains and peas and rice on the side. The person at the counter confirmed that everything I ordered was vegan. I browsed the impeccably clean market joining the restaurant while I waited, and my food was brought to me after about 15 minutes.
What an appealing plate! The tofu slices were huge and the veggies looked bright and fresh. Some of the plantains were more "rare" while others "well done"–a nice mix.
Everything tasted as great as it looked. Tofu can be tricky to make interesting, but the chefs here succeeded with great spicing and perfect grilling. The spinach had a good amount of mushrooms mixed in, plus a weapons-grade dose of garlic. Steamed veggies weren't mushy at all. The peas and rice was a bit oversalted, but still had complex flavor. And the plantains... Perfection.
I also received great service from the staff. Despite how busy it was, two different people came to check on me during my meal. I was a newcomer, but it seemed they knew everyone else by name, adding to the friendly vibe.
Simply Wholesome could also be named Simply Delicious. It's not inexpensive but I felt I got what I paid for: healthy food prepared with care, and a full belly. I will certainly go back to try their other vegan options, plus enjoy the energetic atmosphere and service. Thank you Simply Wholesome!
