For those on the lookout to try something new or those who just love Japanese dishes , I recommend them with no hesitation!!!
Arguably the best sushi restaurant and authentic quality Japanese food in LA all these years ! With their omakase-style sushi menu or a "chef's choice" tasting menu that usually are the best of what they have. I've been a repeat customer for over several years now! Highly recommended without hesitation!!!
Very nice Hibachi! The steak is wonderful! My 10 years old first time and she loved it, and wants to go back for her birthday! Clean and the chefs were just funny enough!
- Parking: street park is best, meters are free @2000 daily and all-day Sunday. There is a parking lot behind the building that is randomly valet park at night. Free parking is also along Beloit Avenue when lucky.
- Outside: next to a vacant space and Sonoritas taqueria. The front is a linen canopy over some porch benches and coffee tables.
- Inside: the sushi bar is the first thing seen. Brightly lit with stone and bamboo tones along the wall. The bar or table is set with high quality bamboo chopsticks and a linen napkin.
- Nutrition: bara-chirashi-sushi is the only item I have ever ordered here, and it is an assortment of fish over a bed of seasoned rice. It also comes with a kombu-based soup. Limit 15 orders daily.
- Troubles: only the bara-chirashi-sushi is affordable, otherwise menu is expensive.
- Summary: the menu projects the image of a high quality, high priced sushi restaurant. The chefs collaborate in Japanese to further the experience. The service is usually superb, though I have come during opening only to wait another 30 minutes before entering. I’ve only ever eaten one item here, so I can tell when it’s an off day, but when it’s a good day the value to extraordinary. I come back at least once per month to enjoy a tasty and luxurious chirashi bowl.
Whether going for the very high value and filling chirabashi, their specialty, or the full blown omakase, everything is 5 star level
