I came across The Peruvian Guy while trying to find new lunch options in my neighborhood. I am so happy I did! It is INCREDIBLY delicious food made by the kindest people. It was an absolute hit at the office! We will absolutely be ordering again!
Fireee, must try all.
This is a food truck worth seeking out offering authentic & tasty Peruvian staples. My favorite go-to's are ceviche (white fish, Peruvian style with some nuts & yam), lomo saltado (beef, rice & french fries for the unintiated) and tallarin saltado (thick noodle stir fry with beef/chicken & tomatoes). They are usually in North Hollywood or Studio City area. Give them a call or follow their IG, FB to find out where they're going to be and when. Tip - I usually order ahead & pick up to avoid waiting. Enjoy !!!
Finding good authentic Peruvian food in Los Angeles had been such a disappointment…the most talked about places would not last a day if they were located in Peru because the flavor is so bad (such a shame that so many Angelenos have that as their idea of what Peruvian food is). As a Peruvian I often crave the taste of a GREAT lomo saltado and our search had been a failure until a good day The Peruvian Guy showed up in our neighborhood!. Their lomos and arroz chaufa taste exactly like what you would get in a reputable neighborhood restaurant in Peru. The lomo has the right amount of sauce and the meat is as tender as you would expect for the price point. Definitely surpasses the quality expected for a food truck! They also make ceviche which is very close to the real thing. Their chicha morada deserves a special mention: IT IS AMAZING! I wonder if they use a concentrate or actual purple corn to make it. I also love that they serve sandwich de chicharrón, something that is not that common in other Peruvian places in LA.
Carlos and Ada, the owners treat their clients like family. It’s always a pleasure to see them.
Go give them a try if you want to experience real Peruvian flavors, you won’t regret it!
