I love Korean fried chicken and miss my favorite spots in Chicago. I would actually give this spot 5 stars just on the crispiness of the skin, the juiciness of the meat, and that the overall chicken didn’t feel/taste greasy. One order of chicken (8 pcs) is plenty for two adults. The yangnyum chicken has good flavor, not too sweet. Might have been better if it had a slightly more spicy flavor. The regular, plain chicken was crispy, but lacked flavor. Needed a bit of salt. I enjoyed the garlic and white radishes in vinegar as nice compliments to the chicken. There is also a variety of dipping sauces offered, including one with wasabi.
Seating is very limited and tight. The 20 minute wait time for the food to come out is quite long for a cafe, food-court, especially when it was not busy. In fact, we were the only ones who had ordered at the time we were there. Located in the Koreatown Galleria mall adjacent in a small corner of the grocery store.
The restaurant is on the bottom floor of the building. The same floor of the market, hidden to the side. It's a little hard to find, more likely you'll find this hidden gem accidentally.
The fried chicken is truly legit KFC ( Korean fried chicken)! I recommend getting the mixed so you get the best of both worlds.
It comes with a variety of dipping sauces, which you can use for your chicken. The chicken itself is very light and super crispy. It's not super spicy, and very flavorful.
Would recommend checking this place out if you're craving some good KFC!
Some of the best fried chicken around especially if you watch let's eat.. and love Asian style American food.
After eating here a couple of times I realized it's hit or miss. Sometimes it's good, sometimes they give you fried bones. It also can get really slow at times. I waited 20 minutes for my order. For reference, I ordered at 530 on a Wednesday. So I advise u to place ur order and go grocery shopping.
I love my fried chicken and eat it almost daily. I've tested out many of LA's Korean fried chicken places and non-Korean restaurants. Witch's chicken is a diamond hidden in a korean market. Crazy! This was not only the juiciest meat, but the sauces and flavors that smothers each inch of the perfectly cooked bird was next to ecstasy! It's cheaper than next to all chicken places for its quality and portion size.
