We are "fried chicken" aficionados. This was our choice for Super Bowl Sunday yum. Really, truly, the best around.

This little hole in the wall has some delicious fried chicken and great fried shrimp. Don't let the out dated decor & bullet proof windows inside deter you from trying their food. Reasonably priced too!

This place is one of the hidden gems of Pasadena cuisine. From the outside and even the inside, it looks like a pretty poor version of a mom and pop establishment. Even the menu gives one pause with a seemingly impossible array of food. Their dining area is very small and filled with obviously used fast food furniture and beverage refrigerators. And the service counter being behind bullet proof glass doesn't help the ambiance either. Thus, I can't give it five stars and rounded up from three and a half.

But the secret is the fried chicken. No one knows what they put in it but it is the absolute best in Pasadena and perhaps the greater Los Angeles area which is home to some of the best fried chicken restaurants in the country. But here, every piece is perfectly cooked, usually to order, and seasoned to perfection. And in this age where most establishments avoid wings due to rising costs, theirs have not changed since they opened.

Still, all is not perfect there. Despite the Louisiana in the name, their Louisiana cuisine smacks of Los Angeles instead of New Orleans. It is clear that the chef has never been to Louisiana much less sampled the food there. If that is not a problem for you and you have a passion for fried chicken then you need to drop by as soon as you can.

I absolutely love getting food for the family here, where we all have options to enjoy a meal. I'm vegetarian so I get the fried zucchini and french fries and guess what!? The fries etc are cooked In their own oil and not fried in the meat oil. The reason for a missing stars is because the menu and prices aren't online and when you do find the prices, they're actually higher at the location. And the other thing is,they get kind of rude when it's a half an hour close to closing time. I don't care if you want to go home earlier than your posted closing time,no need to get rude and it's happened more than once, especially if we are spending over 20$ Everytime we come in. They need to respect that we can spend money anywhere but we choose them,so in turn calm down and choose us by being respectful and not rushing us 30minutes before closing. There are great desserts here as well from banana pudding to certain cake slices, enjoy.

Best thing about this place is the little nice lady that I always joke around with. She gives you all the extra sauce you want. Good customer service with quality food
