Best dinner in Sierra Madre. I'm reluctant to post this because it's an undiscovered gem of a place and I love that I can always get a table.
They have new management, staff and chef, and, boy, can you tell. Top notch and take obvious pride in their work. Great, courteous staff with amazing L.A. restaurant experience.
And the kitchen/chef... well, they just set the high bar for eating in Sierra Madre and vicinity. The food was cooked to perfection and so delicious. Even simple plates shine (when you have chicken and it I've tried so many places in the amazes you, you know you've got a good kitchen).
This is now my go to restaurant in the area.
The only issues I have are with the design/decor in the dining room inside. It's very bare bones and needs more character, less harsh, direct and warmer) lighting and would really benefit from a few dollars spent on art, linens, upgraded chairs, etc. Something that takes the look of their beautiful bar area into the rest of the place. Hopefully, that will come in time.
Excellent place to meet friends and family.
Food is delicious, generous portions, staff are super nice and service is fast.
Nice little breakfast spot where the staff is friendly and service is good. We ordered the avocado toast, pancakes and fried chicken Benedict. The pancakes were large and fluffy while the chicken Benedict had delish spices in the batter that went well with the hollandaise sauce. The avocado toast was a bit on the bland side so we’ll try something else next time instead of that dish. Overall, good experience.
Made a brunch reservation here for 12 people, and they accommodated easily. The French Toast was fluffy and perfectly sweet, and the Fried Chicken Benedict (on a biscuit!) was crispy and filling. Located on the second level of a building behind the major street, so could be easy to miss (shares parking lot with stores in front of it).
