Tomikawa Japanese Restaurant

I am so incredibly happy with the service we received. We celebrated my mother in law’s birthday, and they did not have a full dessert menu set up just yet. The manager, Laura, still made the effort to put together a treat for her. We did not at all expect this as we understand they are a new location, but it was greatly appreciated! Our server, Hanna, was so friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic for a great price. We cannot wait to come back.

The price for the all you can eat menu was a great value. The sushi tasted fresh and was presented nicely with garnishes. The waiter was helpful and we were served quickly. The restaurant was new and cleanly decorated. My wife was also pleasantly surprised that they had gluten-free soy sauce available when asked.

We ordered several servings of sushi, carpaccio. We also got some kid friendly options like tempura, beef teriyaki, karaage chicken, and udon. Everyone was happy!

The food and service were really good and everyone was super sweet. The only issue I had was that the wait was super long but I also know it isnt their fault and they were just super packed.

The waiters and waitresses as well as the chefs were so willing to give and I would say they are top notch. I am not a fan of sushi but I would come here to eat with those who love sushi. This is all the food we got.

Tomikawa AYCE Sushi in Pasadena offers a great deal during their soft opening - buy one, get one 50% off. Waited about 30 minutes on a Thursday night but received a warm welcome from the hostess. While some dishes like the fried chicken were flavorful, others like the carpaccio fell short. The sushi was decent, though the rice ratio seemed off. Friendly staff, but the udon soup lacked noodles. Overall, not perfect, but the discount made it worth it.
