Chengdu Laozao Hotpot

Fantastic hot pot for that trendy style with the spicy butter broth. I thought their broth not only had that delicious spicy butter flavor, but had a better underlying broth flavor than at other places like Haidilao. The half & half pot is $11.98, which is cheaper than if you get a full pot of the spicy.

Their shrimp paste (手打蝦滑) ($6.95) is maybe the best I've ever had. It has more fresh shrimp flavor than anywhere else I've tried.

The handmade vegetable noodles (手工流彩面) ($3.95) was excellent with good toothiness.

The beef aorta (牛黃喉) ($7.95) was somehow not as good as I've had at other places. I think they cut it differently, and I just didn't care much for it.

The fatty beef (肥牛) ($6.95) and the cabbage ($2.95) were both fine, but I thought the portions were a bit stingy.

Like the fish (龍利魚片) ($5.95).

I was brought up in Chengdu, and this Chengdu Laozhao hot pot is very close to the hot pot we normally had there. Very transitional flavor and good quality. Maybe a little spicy to people who don't like spicy food.

The hotpot here is delicious. Amasphere is quite comfortable. The price is a little bit over charged. Customer service needs to be improved.

Great authentic hot pot place. Loved the fish tofu, veggies and mushrooms the most. Also the fried pork is super good. They have a bar with different sauces, nuts, mushrooms, desserts etc. We had a bill $33 each includ.dessert and plum juice and were super full :D definitely recommend it.
