By far some of the freshest sushi I've had in a while. Service is great price is unbeatable in this area. Love that it's such an inconspicuous place.
I prefer this place a lot. theres a friendly atmosphere. The meals are marvelous. the service is effective and the crew is professional. The cost is modest. very much recommend.
FOOD
For both visits, we ordered their combinations. It comes with a salmon handroll for $1. They also give you complimentary edamame, and ice cream. Ice cream has 3 flavors: vanilla, green tea, and red bean.
We tried the 911 roll, tiger roll and Alaskan roll. To be honest, all the rolls tasted similarly to me other than if it was spicy or not. The 911 roll had a spicier kick than the other ones. Tiger roll comes with shrimp tempura, so if you want something crunchy, this would be a good roll to choose from.
SERVICE
The first visit, service was lacking a bit. But they had a big party to attend to, and there were more patrons. In our 2nd visit, the waitress checked up on us frequently.
PARKING
Plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza.
WOULD I COME BACK?
Yep! It's not a bad spot for lunch and the prices are reasonable. The food isn't bad at all and you'll definitely get full from a combo B if you're not a big eater. And if you are a big eater, you can order an extra roll, and most of their rolls are under $10.
Very nice staff, great quality food, authentic sushi and free ice cream served at the end! They also have an all day happy hour menu. My new favorite local sushi place!
As a whole, I thought Shinju Sushi was a bit pricey for what they provided.
I went during their grand opening which was a few months ago and had two other friends come as well. We passed by randomly since we felt like eating sushi. We ordered a chirashi bowl and a few plates of sushi. For the price point, I thought we could go to other places which had better cuts of sushi.
When we walked into the building, we were greeted by the server and then seated almost immediately. The server was friendly and made small talk with us about recommendations and how long ago the shop opened. It surprised us since we were there around lunch, but the place was relatively empty. We chalked it up to the location since it is being blocked by a CVS and in a corner.
The wait for the sushi was fine; we chatted and were on our phones. When it came out, I thought that the ginger quality and the wasabi quality was pretty good, but the sushi was okay. The chirashi bowl that we got was okay as well, but didn't give as much food as Ootoro (Toros) Sushi.
When we got the check, the waitress made small talk with us and also asked how we found the place. We told her we were passing by and saw it. After our meal, they gave us ice cream that was free to finish our meal and a 10% discount since it was their grand opening.
I thought the service, atmosphere, and cleanliness was great, but the food was decent. I don't think I would come back.
