I think this a great spot. You can take your S.O. shopping and then trick them into a nice plate of meat and a beer. Minus one star though. I was in there and ordered a pulled pork sandwich. You could play drums on the bun it was so dam hard. I should of sent it back but I was hungry. Great beer selection though and the staff is very friendly.
So glad to have stumbled across this Gem. Ribs are just crusty outside and melted butter soft inside. Great hot links, definitely try the chips, coleslaw some how seems healthier than normal but tastes great, it's not over mayo-ed. Good selection of specialty sauces and relish on every table. Excited to visit again, and again, and ...
The best BBQ joint outside of the south I have visited for a long time. Luck you Californians that now, have it all. Great owner, present and passionate about his business. Went to Austin's Franklin BBQ a week later and I can tell you this place is not far behind, maybe even better on a few items.
This is a top-notch barbecue place. The place is actually pretty casual, not a sit-down joint at all, and to be honest I've only had the pulled pork and the brisket sandwiches. Both sandwiches were really great though. They didn't put too much crazy stuff on them; it was just some really good meat, and assortment of sauces that are at your table.
Great barbecue sandwiches are not enough to make me drive an hour out of my way, however. The real reason why I keep coming back is the great selection of Bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts that they tend to serve here. Recently I had the cereal killer and the Bourbon barrel aged old Rasputin, both of which are just outstanding beers. So, combine amazing beer selection with really good meat sandwiches, plus some place that is casual enough that some crazy kids could run around and not too too much damage? You got yourself a really great establishment here, that I will go out of my way to visit whenever I am in the Marin area!
Staff are inviting and fun. Food is really tasty. I'm not usually a Mac and cheese person but love it here. Love potato salad and theirs does not disappoint. It was busy but I still got a seat. My only issue was that I could smell the BBQ when I got home but it was worth it.
