I give it 4 stars as it does not live up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, it was good. A good choice of cocktails, a fun menu including quail and delicious lobster rolls, and it was good. The place was very loud, even after 8:00. The staff was friendly and courteous.
I would rate this higher as a bar than a restaurant. It seems over half the seating is spillover from the bar, which makes it a bit noisier on busy nights. I do appreciate the sound baffling in the ceiling but it can only do so much.
The drinks were good and reasonably priced, but on a busy night, of menu or modifications to a recipe is a chancy play, and translating between server to bartender is to be expected.
Dessert was tasty but kind of mechanical, and higher prices than expected.
Service was great though, especially for such a busy night.
Had a fabulous experience here last night. Beautiful ambience, delicious cocktails, and superb food. I’m not easy to impress but I was more than impressed. There were four of us dining. We started with the ahi crudo- which was really delicious and we shared the gnocchi special for a second appetizer which was the best thing I’ve tasted in a long time. It was rich and delicious and just decadent. I had the quail which was to die for. My husband had the swordfish which I love and this was lemony and a beautiful piece of fish perfectly cooked. The entire meal, the service and overall experience was just wonderful and I can’t wait to go back! It’s pricey but worth every cent. Marin finally has a new stellar restaurant. The owners are young, talented and clearly know what they are doing.
Love this place! Cool, hip vibe. Interesting and delicious menu. Can get crowded.
Fantastic experience at Guesthouse- the cocktails are phenomenal, and we all cleared our plates. Particularly recommend the mushroom appetizer and salmon entree. Friends also had swordfish and kale salad was surprisingly delicious. The desserts really stole the show- the toffee cake and cheesecake were ridiculous. We're still talking about our dinner there- we'll be back!!
