Bangers and Mash which I'll be dreaming about for a long time! This stop was the a true blessing after a failed attempt at visiting Muir Woods (for which the parking is reserved and booked way ahead). Don't blink though, as this little gem of a cottage doesn't seem to have a sign. Lots of room on the lawn, in the dining hall, or out on an attached patio with wood burning fireplace.

Awesome little inn/pub tucked away beneath the redwoods near Muir woods. We popped in for lunch. Kind folks, great food, amazing little English pub.

Good food in a historic, atmospheric building. In the winter, they build a roaring fire in the hearth. There is sometimes live music in the lounge area. It is on the small side, so reservations are recommended.

Adorable place, excellent food. Obviously someone’s labor of love. Lunch and front desk staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more efficient.

However, dinner is grossly under staffed-one waitress, one bartender, one cook, one dishwasher. They’re trying very hard to keep up with it all and stay up beat, but they’re frayed and it shows in their interactions. (Would take a picture of my very tasty food, but I can barely see it.)

But.... (big but) the front and back doors are wide open and it’s 37F ! I can’t feel my fingers or toes. The rooms are quaint and romantic, but unheated and so poorly lit that you have to leave the bathroom light on to find the bed.

Convenient to Muir Woods and Mt Tam but wait until spring.

Wonderful history about witches, animal bones, a distillery, family feuds, religion, growing pitchforks, leaded glass, and more. Great service from free spirits. Included complete breakfast in the greenhouse, surrounded by heat, lights, and dark wood. Each room has tons of interesting tidbits. Bar, lounge, dinner hall, private lawn, and listening to the surf. Magical.
