Best food we have had at a restaurant ever! Prawn butternut squash risotto was amazing. Expedient, friendly service. Can't wait to go back! It was a little loud, but they had a couple large loud parties.
Had gone there for happy hour a couple weeks ago because I was in the area . Came back from SFO last night 2/16 . took a chance at dropping in . Place was jumping . I assumed there could be a wait . But the hostess found us a couple seats at the bar quickly . Nice padded stools . Three sizes of Prime Rib . I chose 2 sister cut 14 OZ. It was just before 8:00. Asked if it would be anywhere near rare ? When you order later in the evening it could come out too close to W done in some places . Bartender said it would be medium rare and it was .Maybe closer to rare .Exactly what I hoped for . Was delicious . And Mashed potatoes also perfect . Good drinks . Bar tenders pour without being stingy . And were careful to make my martini how I asked . On my second , the Bar Man came over and poured the vermouth in front of me to have me say when . Nice attention to detail . My Main Squeeze had the Salmon which came with perfectly cooked green beans . Prime Rib and Steaks are never cheap .The prices for good beef are going to cost you some . But the order came out pretty quick and hot on a very busy night . So I would go again . Thanks .
Went for dinner on Valentine's night. Service was middling, but not a huge deal as they were busy.
Ordered 3 appetizers that tasted good, but overpriced for what you get. The $17 Caprese Stuffed Portobello consisted of ONE small Portobello (about 2.5") topped with diced tomatoes and melted cheese and a sprinkling of arugula on the side. The $18 Oyster Casinos was served in an escargot dish with 6 laughably small oysters - they were each about the size of a peanut M&M. The $18 Steakhouse Carpaccio was served on a small plate with capers, cheese, arugula and altogether probably about 1 oz of beef.
For the main course we got the Seafood Bucatini and Ribeye. The Bucatini was good and came with a good amount of seafood to match the $39 price tag. The $49 ribeye was tender, but not medium rare as ordered. it was unevenly cut and not 16 oz as advertised. I would say 12 oz, tops...and no, you do not loose 4 oz from cooking.
Wow…this was a very nice surprise. A real steakhouse in Marin!! And it was amazing. All the food honestly and steaks cooked to perfection. Shrimp appetizer delicious and friendly service! Loud atmosphere but much needed in Novato. Our new favorite neighborhood spot!
My husband and I came here on a weekday date night and the food was phenomenal! I got the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and a side of garlic green beans. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth at each bite. The sides paired perfectly!
My husband ordered the ribeye with the lobster tail. Also amazing! A huge 16oz portion that we took some home. The lobster was the perfect texture and flavor, too!
The ambiance was inviting with enough space to still have private conversations. The service was great - very attentive and fast. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful when making decisions.
We will definitely be back! Might even be our “go-to” date night from here on!
