Overpriced for sure! At over $550 per night including tax, its kind of outrageous. Service from the front desk was cordial and caring. The views are amazing. BUT, the room was small and the bathroom plumbing definitely needed attention. Very cramped, poor shower head and you bump your head on the soap holder when you try and put your head under the shower. The restaurant was closed (obviously not enough patrons on a Wednesday night) so its a 15-20 minute drive to the nearest food stop. Breakfast served in your room in the morning was nice yet served in old chipped crockery. Need more attention to detail on that one. The plus's include a fire pit to sit around to enjoy the view, a comfy bed and a historic feel
Another incredible dinner experience at Harbor House. Truly my favorite restaurant in the USA. Seasonal Coastal menu that is inventive and inspiring. Cottage was also wonderful with the top notch breakfast delivered to the room.
It’s a week later, and we are still reeling from this amazing dinner. The food? Incredible. Words aren’t useful enough to describe the flavors and amazing new things we tried. There wasn’t a bowl I didn’t wipe clean. We left stuffed, and happy. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was like a dance. The staff was so kind and friendly and passionate. Their ethos around sustainable practice is something we wish everyone would highly value and prioritize like the Harbour House does. We will be back, and we can’t wait for the next 10 courses of pure genius.
Drove the 6 miles or so to Elk for this special lunch. This restaurant features one of the few Michelin starred chefs north of San Francisco. Chef decides daily what the 3 course Prix Fixe menu will be. Our main course was ling cod. Beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The dining room features incredible views and is small and intimate. Grounds are impeccable. Only interesting aside(not really a complaint) was that lunch took exactly 2.5 hours. While we certainly appreciate an unhurried dining experience, we were visitors to the area and wanted to maximize our day. $250 for lunch was a little pricey for our blood but it was a great anniversary lunch. Recommend.
A wonderful experience from beginning to end. We came for lunch and had a three-course tasting with some additions. All the food was delicious; we especially appreciated (and noticed!) the deep commitment to sustainability and appreciation for local ingredients. The sentiment was felt throughout the meal. We also appreciated the vegetarian accommodation! The staff was so warm and the space and grounds are incredibly beautiful. We're excited to come back!
