I love the ambiance at North Coast’s restaurant outdoor patio. We’ve been several times with our one year old and they are kid friendly with chill vibes. The food is delicious pub food. I recommend the Clam Chowder fries. Didn’t give it five stars because the food can be hit or miss depending on the dish and the day. For example the nachos once had almost no cheese, and the burger is not consistent. Still highly recommend for a relaxed lunch or dinner in Fort Bragg.
Forgot to take pictures of the food sorry!
They have a nice outdoor patio with heat lamps if you don’t want to eat inside. We had the coconut shrimp which was excellent crispy on the outside meaty plump shrimps on the inside. However the Thai sauce for the shrimp was a little sweet and lacking flavor. Maybe they could have used some citrus or something in the sauce? We also had delish onion rings which were cooked to perfection with a thin tasty batter. The ranch dip was unremarkable. The garlic waffle fries needed more garlic and more cheese and it would’ve been nice if the cheese had been melted a little, so not great. The Caesar salad was fresh with crisp greens but the dressing was a little bland, would have been better with more lemon, less vinegar and more garlic.
I love fish and chips and I try and find the best where ever I travel. I can only give the Pub 3 out of 5 I am sorry to say. My son had the same meal as I and he felt the same. The beer sampler was the best part of the meal. I would go back for just that. The fries served were mediocre frozen type. While plentiful they were darker brown and oily. The fish was cod which I love but the beer batter did not do the cod justice. The batter seemed thin with not much flavor. It was a darker brown and very oily as compared to the fries. To top it off there was a chicken bone embedded in the fish. The reason for the 3 rating was due to the beer sampler. Maybe it was just an off or bad day for the cook staff....
My husband and I had the 1/2 and 1/2 fish and chips, clam chowder, and chili. Everything tasted delicious and fresh! The batter on the fish was fantastic. The fries were crispy. Even the dipping sauces were better than most places. The chowder was my favorite thing out of everything we ordered and went really well with the side of bread our waitress recommended. Chili was full of chunks of beef and had a nice level of spice. Service was quick, helpful, and attentive. My husband is already talking about a return visit to try more of the menu!
Food was good. Service was great. We were one of the first tables sat of the day and already they were out of some of their beer? How can a brewery not have their beer on tap, but still sell it in bottles? At least sell to us in a bottle. Food was good but their sign/ mural advertised pizza and they no longer served pizza... still a good lunch overall. New outdoor dining looked fun. Hope to be back soon
