(October 25, 2022, 12:40 am)DO NOT discount this place simply because it is inside a Chevron station as I almost did. It is really take -out only and while I ate at the dinky table in the parking lot, that wasn't ideal. Nonetheless the Chicken Gyro plate I ordered was fresh, clean, and very flavorful! It is easy to be put off by $18 (incl drink) for "gas station food" also but it really is not that caliber of food. The chicken was flavorful and moist, the salad was fresh, the hummus was nice, the "rice" was PERFECT and my pita was warm. He added sweet touches like olives, olive oil to the hummus, and a generous amount of feta! What bumped this up to the full 5 stars is the love the gentleman showed as he prepared the food and as he instructed a new employee on how to make the food. The man who prepared my food is a true chef and it showed in every detail as I watched him prepare my take-out meal. It was a beautiful thing to watch and made my out-if-the-way jaunt to try this place well worth the while.

I work in Castroville & all of my colleagues have had nothing but GREAT things to say about The King. Needless to say, when I first got it, I was expecting excellence.
EXCELLENCE I GOT! Everything is so well executed!
The Rice: moist & flavorful | The Hummus: creamy & not at all garlicy | The Salad: Fresh & the dressing is BOMB | The Sauce: put that sauce on a Shoe it'll be fire.
The Chicken Shawarma: MIND.BLOWING! I've never had Shawarma this delicious. Moist & flavorful chicken - Perfection
It's definitely a regular stop of mine. 10/10 recommend -

I came back to buy a baklava and told them that their food was really great and he offered me a free baklava in return!! I will definitely come back
