Solid food and service. Had the fried calamari to start, and was very pleased with the flavor of the cocktail and tartar sauces. The clam chowder bread bowl with garlic crust was an absolute treat - comforting, but not heavy. Had I not ordered an appetizer and dessert, I might have just had two! The cheesecake was not for me - not much cheesy flavor, an incredibly thick crust (though not hard). Serving was very generous though. For anyone looking for a comforting lunch affair, dodge Cannery Row and head on over here!
Great food and better service! Get there early if you are set on the bread bowl. I ordered one as they were running out. The server comped me some garlic bread as an alternative. It was great!
Enjoyed this chowder house. Recommend. Service was good and patient considering 2 families with kids. Kudos. Being a soup fiend I tried all 3 kinds, clam chowder, oyster stew, and Boston pan. All very good. Love they have sand dabs. Only wish they had calamari steaks too. I would come here again in a heartbeat.
had the chowder (spicy) with shrimps extra. excellent. very good fried oysters too. They could have a wider wine diversity (only 3 common reds to chose). High quality to price ratio
Vivolo's is just a 5 minute walk from Cannery Row in a quaint little shopping mall right outside of Pacific Grove. A friend's recommended it so we made the journey and WOW! This is definitely one of my favorite meals I have had so far in California! We tried their clam chowder in a bread bowl with their cheese bread lid and it was superb! Best clam chowder I have ever had! Everything we got was amazing so you can't go wrong, but the chowder is a must!
