One of my favorite spots for delicious japanese food. Got there about three, it wasn't crowded. There was quick, helpful, and friendly service. It has a nice interior. Ambience reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
I'm fairly timid when it comes to trying new combinations in sushi rolls. However, this place provided a comforting environment and, most importantly, awesome sushi! I ordered a San Francisco Roll and tried a TNT Roll, and both were very tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere of the place feels very community-oriented, and from what I heard from the friends we met for dinner, the place is almost always packed with people. Whether you want a simple roll, something a bit more complex, or one of the other awesome dishes available on the menu, I highly recommend this establishment!
Outstanding place for Japanese food. Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. Service treated us so kindly. This place has a cool feel to it.
Just off HWY 101 in Salinas, a working class hole-in-the-wall former Japanese restaurant, now primarily sushi, or "mexi-sushi fusion".
Clean place. At entrance are two traditional low tables if you want to sit on floor. Salinas/Monterey had a big Japanese population before WWII, not as much now.
I like spicy hot food, so I tried the AMIGO salmon rolls with jalapeno & cilantro, it was fresh, well-prepared, and fast.
The tempura veggies were awesome, since they grow all around Salinas, they are fresh.
The place was packed with locals for Wednesday lunch. This place is CLOSED 2:15PM to 4:30PM to prep for Dinner crowd. Busy, fresh, good.
Awesome Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious. A bit cold though. It was valentines day, and was crazy busy. Maybe that is why it was a bit warm and not hot. Sushi is great with an extensive number of items. I am very sure regardless of your taste you will find something you will love. Varies between hot and mild. But really amazing collection. They also have a dinning area where hot can sit on the floor for full Japanese experience. Staff are super friendly.
