An amazing experience! Well worth the visit.
We’ve been wanting to stop in here for a while and finally got a chance. The property is spectacular. Currently under renovations which should be done by the spring but still very nice. The wine was amazing! Mael took care of us and helped make the experience a great one. It’s on the pricier side but with it. You can always share a flight if you want to keep it a little more affordable.
Laura was a beyond lovely hostess. She walked us through the offerings - Overture, 2016, and 2014. She also explained the upcoming modifications to the property that are still coming in the next 9 months or so. For my mother and grandfather this was not their first visit, and while it was my first visit Opus is forever elegance in the most beautiful setting. Being able to relax and enjoy the flight as well as enjoy the glass after the flight without being rushed around was so wonderful - that's seemingly the prerogative of most of the wineries.
Opus One is definitely one of the most beautiful wineries in the Napa Valley. The winery has a beautiful scenery of rolling hills all around it. It’s remarkable architecture and design is mesmerizing. It definitely feels like you’re about to go into a journey. The wine tours are done by appointment; you definitely need to plan ahead. The tour was very intimate and the wine we tasted was amazing. They walk you through the process of wine making. From the plantation of the wines, harvest, and hand picking the best grapes, combining fruits and aging the wine. Every step of the way has a team of passionate masters of their craft. I personally have the honor to know the wine maker, he’s a wonderful person. He’s very passionate about wine. In the tour it really shows how every person that works in the winery is important and a key to make a bottle of wine. Their focus to every little detail and process is mind blowing.
