We have been there previously, visiting from Australia and we can get pasties almost anywhere back home. These are probably better than most we have had and certainly an amazing variety. Cornish brought them to Australia as well.
Stopped at this little hole in the wall on my way to go hiking. And like most hole in the walls, the food was tasty. I got the roast pasty, my sister got the veggie and my brother in law got the the beef because they were out of the pizza. No complaints they were all good.
Nice place, decent food. Cool European pastries and candies.
Thed first time I ever heard of pasties was while travelling in Northern Michigan. They are a filled pocket meal that was eaten by the Welsh miners. I was surprised to find pasties in California, but again, the miners.
We stopped at Cousin Jack's in Grass Valley for some pasties to take home. We chose four different fillings: Pot Roast, Beef, Corned Beef and Greek. A label on the bag had heating instruction that was ideal. Don't microwave. The Pot roast was delicious.
Very small but cozy and friendly. We loved it!
