We are here for Brunch on Sunday and then we’re back for dinner the next night. The ambience is amazing and we had so much fun with the servers. For dinner we had the ribeye and salmon, both were cooked perfectly! This will definitely not be the last time we are here! I highly recommend for your next date night.

My daughter had a half day so we decided to have lunch in Nevada City. I had walked through the newly remodeled National Hotel, but hadn’t eaten there yet. Perfect! It wasn’t crowded on a Friday, mid-day so we were seated right away. The service was pleasant and timely. The food was delicious! I had eggs benedict, my daughter had french toast. My daughter is VERY picky and she said it was the best she had ever had. She even loved my fried potatoes (which she normally doesn’t like, at all). The atmosphere is elegant and beautiful. We’ll be back.

Went there for Mother's Day the food was superb. My wife and son both got 2 entrees, which were amazing, as was mine. One was French toast done in a way that was just unique. My hash was also over the top. Staff were harried of course but service was plenty good enough. I really appreciate how easy it was to make the reservation online. More recently I went to the bar and was insulted by the saddest whisky sour I had ever encountered or even heard of, small, flat, tasteless, 14 bucks. The bartender should have paid me to dispose of the thing. I also prefer the old, semi-decayed, impossible to guess the last time work was done decor. The new look is plain, bloodless, uninteresting, it has no connection to gold rush history that I can see. If I ever order a drink from that bar again, it will be a bottle of beer. That way, no surprises.

Lola at the National Exchange Hotel is a revelation. I've been to my fair share of great restaurants, but this is one of the few that has truly blown me away.

The lamb risotto is a thing of beauty. The lamb is cooked to perfection, and the risotto is creamy and flavorful. The whole dish is a symphony of flavors, and it's one of the best risottos I've ever had.

But it's not just the food that's exceptional. The service is also top-notch.

The atmosphere at Lola is also very special. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful old building, and the dining room is intimate and inviting.

    Outstanding dinner and cocktails.
We enjoyed the fried chicken with fingerling potatoes and the rib eye, both were well prepared and delicious. We brought our own wine in for a modest corkage fee. Our server was friendly and engaging. We sat in the dining room near the bar in a red velvet booth with photos of Lola on the walls... She was quite the character in her day.
