IHands Down, The Tack Toom! You will never eat a steak anywhere else again! I've been dining at The Tack Room over 38 yrs. I have ate at many 5 Star steak houses Harris Ranch Sterlings at Silver Legacy Reno. The Willow (Nevada City Ca ) just to name a few & Truly The Tack Room has the best Steak! You can watch them cook your meat on their lovely open fire grill that sits in middle of restaurant. They also serve to die for Grilled Prawns. Calamari & Prime Rib!! Enjoy the Awesome Conjoining Country Bar w/A Shuffle Board table & Of Course the Beautiful Bartenders!

It's ok. There's a big grill on the restaurant side where your steak gets cooked. Supposedly they'll let you grill your own, but I've never asked for the opportunity.

The other side is a bar. It has shuffle puck, a dance floor, etc. Overall, not a bad place and for Penn Valley it's a nice option.

As always ....love the salad bar! Tackroom still knows how to throw a steak on a grill but this goes to ALL of Nevada County. The restaurant industry put no stock in the eating utensils! Don't Laugh...... This is not coming from experience..... Restaurant's want their patrons to eat with prison silverware! Regardless of breakfast, lunch, or the high end restaurants.
I urge the industry to raise the bar on silverware.
