The sushi here is amazing. We had such a great time. There were 5 of us in our party, and our server was excellent. We did have to wait about 45 minutes to get in because the place is very small, but we went and had a drink before hand to kill the time. Overall, it was an excellent evening with exceptional food & service. And that’s coming from a Houstonian, where to food is hard to beat. We will be back! * The Shaner roll is an absolute must

Awesome food! We drive almost 30 minutes from Northstar to have the food here and it was totally worth it! Freah, and deliciously creative! The decor is warm and the team lead by "Ali" is awesome! Highly recommended!

MakiAli is consistently the best sushi in Truckee/Tahoe City. Always fresh and they have the best rice. One of the few places where there are reasonable prices for high quality. It is a VERY small restaurant so plan to arrive before 6:30 if you don't want to wait. And it's good to check ahead on the website since they change up days they are closed and they will stop doing take out if it is busy. Service is best when the owner is there managing. Otherwise I've had some iffy service- but nothing awful. I order take out about once a week and go in once a month or so.
