Pho Kingdom Anaheim

I actually think this place is good, but wanted to help clarify on why this place is potentially receiving negative reviews.

This isn't your typical Pho joint that you'll find in much of northern Orange County. This is more representative of pho joints at places like Garden Grove or actual Vietnam itself. Don't expect pristine, perfect cuts of flank steak, expect smaller bits, because the bits always taste the best!

Is this place 100% authentic as a result? Whoa there, I didn't say that either. This is the USA after all so some things have to adapt to the USA pallete. I ordered the egg rolls ("cha gio") and didn't see any lettuce, mint, cilantro, or cucumber -- All that came with was nuoc mam and pickled carrots. But hey, you could argue that's authentic too, as there are places in Vietnam that would only serve it like that too. This isn't a bad thing, but something to be cognizant of; just because a Viet restaurant in Fullerton doesn't serve it with those other fixins' doesn't mean this place isn't "legit" -- it just is a different experience (and hence the lower price point, it's $4.95 for four egg rolls at the time of this review, which comes to $1.00 for each egg roll, $0.85 for the nuoc mam sauce, and another $0.15 for the pickled carrots is how I mentally break down the cost of the dish)

But that being said, there are still some things I'd like to see change at Pho Kingdom:

- There isn't a "pho dac biet" dish. Sure, you can argue that there's a combination pho bowl that has oxtail in it, but I'm not a fan of oxtail and want to see more portion sizes on say, tripe, and tendon, in my bowl of pho.

- The pho bowls come with a very plain offering of veggies: jalepenos, bean sprouts, lime, thai basil. Other places I go to will serve in addition: sliced onions, cilantro, mint, pickled carrots, and sawtooth herb.

These aren't dealbreakers, hence the 5 star review still, they're just nice to haves that I'd like to see this restaurant offer.

The price point is very affordable, under $10 a pho bowl, there are some bowls that are closer to the $5 mark too which is a steal in this part of Orange County especially.

Finally, a note on technology: This place uses Square to process EFT (electronic funds transfer) payment such as credit and debit cards. So, you can use your Google Pay / Apple Pay here if you have it linked to your cell phone, or if you have a credit card with the NFC tap log on it, you don't even have to swipe -- just wave your card at the square logo when it's time to pay and voila -- you're all set. Very technology-forward restaurant, it's nice to see restaurants offer this payment option.

Open late, their Pho was very tasty and the owner was really friendly. We had a complimentary dessert. My wife and I will definitely be returning. Vegetarian options are available.

Me and my wife loved this place, our new favorite pho place!

My new favorite pho restaurant. My boyfriend and I go to a different pho restaurant every week in different cities because he is a semi truck driver. We both ordered pho and a sticky rice desert. It was phenomenal. I loved the larger rice noodles, the broth was perfect and the large pieces of chicken. Definitely will be back. Thank you pho kingdom!!! ????????????????
