I cannot say enough good things about The Hat!! A close to lifetime favorite of my family. Pastrami dip like no one else has (and I try pastrami everywhere I find it to see if I can find a replacement for it outside of So Cal). You can add pastrami to just about any menu item for an additional charge. They are secondly known for their chili, which can top burgers, hot dogs, tamales and fries. If chili isnt your thing, they have cold and hot sandwiches. Try Wet Fries, fresh hot crispy fries topped with warm brown gravy. Both chili and wet fries are large enough to split between minimum 2 people.
BE WARNED! THEIR CHILI CHEESE FRIES ARE HUGE!!!!!
Ordered the chili cheese fries ($6.99) with onions and pastrami (total came out to $15) and with the help of a teammate we almost finished it. You have been warned that these French fries are massive and require 2 - 3 people on avg empty stomachs. They have numerous sauces for dipping as well (ranch, ketchup, hot mustard, thousand islands, etc.). Overall very satisfied for the price paid.
What can I say? It's The Hat and this location is as good as any of the others I've been to. The food is very consistent here. If you haven't been before, their portions are huge! The food is excellent for fast food. I have never had better pastrami in my life. If you like pastrami, you should definitely check this out.
Nice that this place is open late. Very good food. Reminds me when I was young and there were many places like this.
Well well well. What can I say about this place that hasn't already been mentioned. It's truly a gem. Not many of these locations but defiantly for a reason. I live out in the South Bay of Los Angeles so the closest ones are a good drive but totally worth it. This location I came across when I was going to school out in cal state Fullerton. I'll never forget the first time I went and not knowing the menu sizes for the chili cheese fries. Man, I ordered pastrami (to die for) and an order of the chili cheese fries, which are HUGE! You must share it's just too much food. The burgers are well prepared, smaller then other places but trust me; you come here for the Pastramis.
I've been coming for years and I just can't get enough. The only downside for me is that since I don't live in Fullerton anymore its quite a drive me nowadays. I usually wait for the weekend to head out that way or later when there isn't any traffic. Totally worth it anyways.
