Hoshi Shabu Shabu

I don't understand why this place is rated so high. The service was good and the restaurant was clean, but the food seasoning was very, how can I put this... Meh? Also some of the food was very not fresh. I know seafood goes downhill fast, but how do you spoil kimchi? If you want to eat a lot without much consideration for how it tastes, this place is fine, but otherwise don't bother.

Food there is pretty good. I think this is the only hot pot/shabu shabu around this area. Only not a 5 star due to lack of service. I think if they hire one or two more people this place would have more customers.

The restaurant is split into two sections. One side handles the Korean barbecue and then the other side handles the shAbu. I had the Shabu and there were a lot of different soup bases to choose from. And also different cuts of meat although they're all sliced thin and a little bit hard to decipher the differences. Soup base was a little bit salty for my liking. Best part is customizing how you want to eat it.

We did the shabu instead of kbbq and it was great! Nice selection of meats and veggies. I recommend the house sauce which is spicy with a hint of sweet. They changed the lunch options to all the meat instead of just #4-9

Our first time here but definitely not our last. Jake was really friendly and took great care of us. We have been to several Shabu Shabu spots but this one is the best!! We will be back for sure!
