La Cave

One of the last great places to eat... When it's gone there will be nothing like it around, simply old school

La Cave is so great. Best steaks, atmosphere & cocktails in town! Wine list is good too.

Great service and food. We went on the Saturday after Valentine's day. The menu was fix price at $65 plus add-ons. The waitress was very attentive and always on the spot. The food was served very timely. Dinner was served as soon as we finished our salad and dessert right after our dinner. The homemade blue cheese dressing was excellent. The steaks were tender and perfectly seasoned. Maybe it was the company we had but everything flowed as of it were choreographed. All this in spite of the restaurant being packed.

Didn't eat here but saw some bands play in the basement. Cool room down there. Wish they would do more punk shows there. I loved the wood carved mural behind the bar. Looked creepy and cool in the dim red lights. Is this the portal to hell?

Step into the Time Machine, destination 1962. Dark atmosphere, a single table candle, smoke filled room, and Nat King Cole crooning as you enjoy your New York cut steak. No burgers here. Excellent sea food is also available.

I've read some of the other reviews and let me add a little more. La Cave is not a restaurant where there are over 100 items on the menu. It is a restaurant where there are a few items prepared with excellence. No burgers, no chicken, no children's menu. Select cuts of beef and fish are what's waiting for you, and you select what you eat, not pictures in a menu. Be patient, if you were expecting fast food you came to the wrong place. The quality food you selected will not be rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience, I invite you to enjoy it as well, by not rushing and not expecting a McDonald's menu here.
