Dave's Hot Chicken

Really liked the food. Great Sunday option for us before shopping at Target. Medium was not that spicy so I’ll go hotter next time. I’ve had hot chicken lots of places locally and in Nashville. Not overly salty chicken (as seen noted), but yes really heavy seasoned fries, loved the pickles. This chicken seasoning was not oily and had notes of dark chili powder which is more west coast touch vs Nashville hot. I also feel like the food had a celery salt taste or something like old bay. Appreciated the food didn’t have a heavy peanut oil taste like I’ve come across at other joints. We shared a slider combo for two adults since I wanted a light lunch. The sliders are sized like a small sandwich. This is fast casual and seemed priced normally to other meals I’ve been having during this inflation - not a steal but this food was hot and fresh. The food came out fast which was great but I was there off peak on a Sunday. I’d try if if you’re even a bit curious like I had been. Not even a bit sad to skip fast food chicken today. Will be back!!!!

The best fried chicken spot in Costa Mesa. We had chicken sandwiches and they were super delicious 😋 . They were not too greasy, not too dry, just perfectly crispy. I also love their Dave’s sauce . It is a must try! The crinkle cut fries is very tasty too and it goes perfectly with the Dave’s sauce. For the first time we have tried their mac and cheese and it was delicious. When you are ordering a chicken sandwich you get to select how spicy you want the chicken, we got it lite mild which was perfect, not to spicy but not blend either. Perfectly seasoned chicken and so juicy and delicious 😋.
The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is very vibrant and inviting. The restaurant is clean and very nicely decorated with some cool artwork on the walls.
Highly recommended!!! A must visit!

First time trying Dave’s hot chicken, staff was friendly. Went with the number 4 combo one slider and fry I got it “Hot” it was spicy for me but also very manageable. The atmosphere is awesome the sand which was delicious not over the top greasy either, tasted very fresh. Would come back.

I love Daves Hot Chicken but this location just made it good, not great. The mac and cheese was so watery and had no flavor. The slider barely had any coleslaw or anything in it, might have well just gotten the tender instead, especially since I paid extra.
