2nd location to the original one in garden grove. Took the old brodard location. Seabass hotpot and escargot was good. My favorite is the scallops. The crunchy onions add an extra layer of texture. The prawns were on their special menu and tasted fresh. Service was excellent. Dirty dishes taken away quickly. Expect a wait on a weekend evening.
Excellent fresh seafood as usual. I’ve been to this location twice and the original location twice. Food is identical.
Just so you have an idea of how long the wait is on a Sunday night, here's a play by play: we waited for an hour and 15 min-ish to be seated at 7:30pm for a large party of 11. The upside is that there is a separate section of the restaurant where you can be called in faster if you do NOT plan to order hot pot. After ordering, it took about 8 minutes for the first dish to came out. But overall the wait was worth it with all the good dishes and I think they're on par with the original Oc va Lau.
One of the better home cook style Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Service was also very good. The wait is long on weekend evenings so come early to queue. First come first served. No reservations accepted.
Highly recommended this restaurant. Seafood is very fresh. They serve diverse types of seafood such as snails, lobster, crabs, oysters... Dishes are delicious and beautiful especially the crab hot pot and the snail hot pot. The price is affordable for fresh seafood. Waiters are nice. The decorating is cozy, seats are comfortable. However the restaurant is often crowded with a long waiting time. I will come back to this place next time.
