🇻🇳 VIETNAM (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - An order of chả cá hà nội ($16) brings a portable fire to your table. Add to the already cooked pieces of fish and greens with dill and peanuts from the plate it comes with. Anyone who has traveled to or lived in Hanoi will have eventually found their way to the city's old quarter and the street named for the dish with many places to try chả cá. It is somewhat of a symbol of Hanoi, and has been enjoyed in this do it yourself form for over a century. The meat of the fish is tinged yellow by turmeric, and when ready can be dipped in mắm nêm, an intensely pungent fermented anchovy paste.
Been to this restaurant 3 times and seems like the food quality is not consistent. The broth from the Pho Bo is too sweet and did not taste good. The Bun Cha Ha Noi is not recommended, the meat is really tough and dry like it has been reheated many times. I almost have an upset stomach after eating it. The Bun Cua Be is pretty good but recommend you don't buy it to go because the Cua Be will get very chewy. I also noticed the restaurant is getting less customers every week. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Just hope the food quality can be improved so maybe they can get more customers to return.
I like Pho…This place is clean, the food is not bad, the price is not high….everything is good.
Beef Pho with Vang Sauce (4/5⭐️) is definitely the special dish here. The taste is similar to beef noodle soup but with a thinner and more aromatic broth. Quite strange. Should try once ✨
