Mangiamo Gelato Caffe

Man, do I love gelato.

My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night, and the place was pretty crowded still. I can see why, there are some pretty cool flavors. I got a piccolo-sized (basically the small) gelato and got the oatmeal, cookies and milk, and banana chocolate chip flavor. It was good! Very creamy and I loved the flavors. Oatmeal was a personal favorite, definitely tasted like an oatmeal cookie and they added cinnamon on top which really upped the flavor. Banana chocolate chip was good as well, didn't have that artificial banana-flavored candied taste. Cookies and milk was wonderful. I find that eating cookies and cream ice cream can sometimes taste gross because the cream part of the oreo is so artificially manufactured, but Mangiamo got it down right.

Price wise, it was alright, but a little expensive for the size ($3.50). If you saw the size, you would understand what I'm talking about. Also, you don't get one of those rewards cards unless you got a larger size. Kind of sad about this since I basically live for rewards cards. Service was a little hectic, they only had two people working and lots of customers. There was also no comprehendable form of a line, it just felt like people would walk up to the gelato, try samples, and the workers would help whoever was ready to order. BUT, unlimited samples, so that's a plus. When I finally got my gelato, it took the workers a while to ring me up to pay. By this time, part of my gelato had melted quite a bit, which made me sad.

So, gelato quality and flavors are wonderful, but since this place is a little out of my way, I wouldn't really come back unless it was convenient.

One of my favorite stops on main street, made fresh daily the gelato and sorbetto here is AWESOME, my favorites are root beer float, ALL of the cherry flavors for the gelato and the kiwi red bull for the sorbet ...ok and chocolate too????

I have been to Italy many times and this place serves the real thing. So many other places use a powdered mix; this is fresh! And the flavors are always changing.

They have a great selection of gelato, but sometimes it doesn't look very fresh. I've been here a handful of times and the service is also inconsistent depending on who you get.
It's a nice place to get some cold sweets in the summer months.
