Cool hang out! Chris the bartender is Awesome! They have the Coldest Beers in Town!!! Great food!
Cool pub with awesome pizza but the slice and a fun atmosphere with top notch service!
Food was nothing to write home about, but I didn't send anything back either. Waitress was nice, but not terribly experienced. Atmosphere is kind of a dive, but hey, it's a bar, right?
A great local non-chain place to go in Lake Forest. Happy hour till 7 is great $3 domestic beers. We were there on a Thursday night during a football game, so even beyond happy hour there were NFL specials and nightly specials. We enjoyed some bacon wrapped jalapenos and a cheese pizza. Next time I need to spend some time waiting for traffic to lighten up I'll be back.
Went there today for their Monday special, a big plate of spaghetti and two meatballs with garlic bread for $5. The spaghetti was excellent and cooked just the way I like it--in the sauce, so the spaghetti sucks up all the flavor. Because of that, there was plenty of meat sauce. The meatballs were large and tasty. I really had to force myself to finish the plate off. My dining partner doggy-bagged a full half of her plate.
I got there a few minutes after 2 on a Monday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all. It's 80 degrees out, but a very cool and comfortable inside. It was quiet enough to have a conversation in a normal voice. The bartender/ waitress was extremely attentive, cheerful, and informative.
I will be back to try out their one-dollar tacos on Tuesday, and their happy hour between 4 and 7 weekdays, when well drinks are $3.
This is the old Scarantino's restaurant location, but the booths in the restaurant below have been replaced by another bar. Very promising!
