Combo salad & coconut shrimp...it's the best. You've got to try them.

The Sesame chicken salad has way better flavor than the Ho Sum (ginger) chicken salad. The hot kitchen operates way slower than the cold kitchen, so I highly recommend starting with a salad first. The salads are huge - a half size salad could easily feed 3 to 4 people. So the full size salad probably feeds 6 to 8 people! The soups are nice too. The hot and sour soup is great. The wonton soup has a nice rich broth and comes with the soft boiled chicken dumplings that are also available as Dim Sum. The potstickers are excellent. I love the red sauce that comes with the Dim Sum soft boiled chicken dumplings, and it's only mildly spicy.

Ho Sum Bistro is a NPB landmark. It still offersmany of the original L.A. locations signature dishes which is why they are always so busy. Be sure to order the Ho Sum salad packed with gingery tang and plenty of crunchies that make it more of a meal than a side dish. Potstickers are a treat, paired with a sweet apricot dipping sauce. Yum!

After 25 years of enjoying their food I've yet to have a meal that didn't wow me. Enjoy Ho Sum Bistro as we have again and again.

Been going here for years and the food is very consistent. There's enough variety on the menu to accommodate most everyone. My go to is half a ho sum and chicken fried rice. I'll eat here at least a couple times a month.

Stopped in while walking by for happy hour. I had some dumplings that were tasty and a glass for wine for a special deal. They also had a chopped salad that looked very good and they kindly gave me a little sample.l and it indeed tasty. The place looked like it was a local favorite with plenty of people coming and going and getting take out.
