Sundays morning the cravings for pancakes we all suffered of this food syndrome ay one point in our lives right? Well this place its always packed Saturdays and Sunday mornings, wait for a table for 2 can take from 10-30 minutes, there are seating for you to wait outside just not sheltered from the rain if it rains so bring your umbrellas, but their food it's Great! Pancakes flour it's not your traditional one, therefore it's kind of unique and delicious, but even tho their pancakes are not the same as the rest of the competition their French Toast is one of their most valuable assets with such a delicious fresh tasty flavor, unique taste, freshness and tenderness Whatever you do, do not skip their French Toast trust me on this one! Restaurant kind of limited seating base on their crowded demand but you will be comfortable enjoying a good breakfast with your love ones or if you want to impress a friend!
Who doesn't love the Black Bear? You have to! Adorable Black Bears everywhere you look, an even more adorable gift shop, and some of the world's best pancakes.
Speaking of which, when you visit the Black Bear make sure to get the pancakes. Or should I say "pancake."
They are so huge that one will fill you up, especially if you get it as a side order to your meal.
My only regret is that I didn't get the new Bear Claw French Toast!
This new item on the menu is an almond cream filled bear claw, battered and grilled and topped with powdered sugar.
The fried chicken and waffles is another one of my favorites!
You really can't lose with ordering anything at the Black Bear!
Second experience at the chain. First time at Santa Ana location. Great service, great food. Everyone had a good time. We went home with enough leftovers to have one whole meal covered the next day. Only criticism would be AC was set so low that we were all freezing.
We came here for breakfast after church on a Sunday. It was an hour wait, bit figured everywhere would have a wait so we stayed. The food was good. I got the cinnamon roll french toast. It was delicious. You can make it a combo for a little more money.
This place is great for breakfast. You can also buy Huckleberry jam there. Pretty decent sized servings. It's a great place to get full before you do a 1/2 day of shopping at the South coast plaza. It's better during the week because on the weekend the line is crazy. Great place to people watch. But some days not so much.
