Char-Pit

I have been a fan of Char-Pit for about 40 years. My best friend Mike introduced me to this place when we were 12 years old. My go-to is the Char Burger, but my now teen-aged sons ordered different items this time. My older son ordered the French Burger (burger patty smothered in melted blue cheese), said it was delicious, the proportions were perfect. My younger son ordered the ribs and says they are great! They must be pretty good, because we overheard a call-in order for three full racks of ribs. Some folks may think it is kinda plane-jane, but I have loved this place most of my life. Their soft serve ice cream is always good and they have a lot of flavor options for their milkshakes and/or malts.

I have a strong addiction for anything burgers, so all burger spots have a special place in my heart, including Char-Pit at Kings Beach. I’m always craving an old fashioned burger with fries (and a cold beer), and when I do, it’s Char-Pit that comes to mind. Ambiance adds to the feel of this place, for sure. Sometimes the wait can be insane but it’s totally worth it for these burgers. The “experience” here just leaves you with good memories of Kings Beach.

Awesome burger joint in Kings Beach. Nothing can goes wrong with freshmade burger and fries. Staff was helpful food was great and quick supper effort able I order Gyros and wedge salad. 1/2 rack ribs and malt strawberry shake. So yummy. Highly recommend.

Great spot. My 12 year old daughter loves burgers and she loved this place. She said "Dad, we're coming here every time we come to Tahoe!". I must qualify this with the fact that she likes her burgers very plain, with just meat, cheese and bun...she added bacon to hers and was super happy with the char flavor on both the burger and bun.

Char-pit is the best burger restaurant I think I've ever eaten at! My wife and I first visited this place in May 2018 just to try it out. Now it's our tradition to stop there every time we're in Kings Beach.

Other than their amazing burgers, I'd recommend the NY steak sandwich combo which comes with fries and coleslaw. Their shakes are really good too, I'd recommend the cherry chocolate or the cherry pineapple shake. Delicious!
