Straight up standard grilled burger with few variations. If you like real, home-grilled burgers, you will like Fred's. The fries were awesome.. Nice and crispy! Nice that they have a drive through!
Well, the sign says, "You've tried the rest, now try the best" and I didn't experience it that way at all.
Now, is it a bad burger? No. It is a very average burger, no flavor profile to write about from a patty perspective (I like a seasoned patty and this one clearly had no seasoning).
The bun was fresh and attractive but was, a lot of bread.... Produce was fine. Fred's magic thousand Island dressing was, pretty ho-hum (un-noteworthy in flavor profile).
I got the, I think, "Fred's wild fries" with the burger (with supposed spicy sauce). The portion size was less than expected for the price, and it was liquid cheese product (processed), sauteed onions, and some type of spicy ketchup I guess. They were underwhelming for me.
All said, I'm not really motivated to go back honestly. It wasn't bad food but it also wasn't "hit the table" good either.
The dining area was very large and it was fairly empty. The ambient silence had me feeling like I should whisper when talking to my bride over the meal. The interior was clean and orderly, a decent setting I suppose.
Staff was friendly. I didn't understand why I got a plastic table number when I ordered but had to bring it to the counter when I picked up my tray, seems like a paper receipt could have accomplished the same goal.
My bride ordered the veggie burger. She asked which brand they used and we were told they are made in house. I don't know for sure, but it sure looked like a garden patty. She said it tasted just fine.
Good (not great), but much better than most. Simple and better prices than others! I’d definitely come back. Seems like a little more customer service oriented or something unique would really help them standout.
Good to have a high end burger place that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get a decent sandwich. They also have chicken and gourmet dogs as well as a vegetarian option. The food was good. We had a chicken sandwich and a burger and loved them both.
