Cute little shopping center locals seem to enjoy it as well.
A shopping center has an enormous amount of stores with a 24 hour fitness gym and WinCo foods. Those alone can get you pretty far for a quick pit stop or if you're from the area. When I attended Coachella for 2019, this is the place I stayed at but unfortunately they do have a security which is a good and bad because early in the morning they will kick us out because they mention you couldn't sleep in the premise even though it's a 24-hour area and if you really are up to no good, of course you should be bad but they were just minding our own business. But I get it, security and safety come first and he was just doing his job.
Indio Town Center is a typical freeway exit strip mall, but hosts an outstanding array of stores. Easy access and excellent parking availability round out the package. Plus, for me, it's a 3.5 mile bike ride from home.
The center is anchored by WinCo Foods and Home Depot. If you don't know WinCo, it's an employee owned company with outstanding grocery prices. They even tag items red, yellow, or red, depending on employee assessment of value. As owners the staff is amazing! The store is very large, and I suspect that it's presence led to the closure of the big box store across the street.
New Marshall's and Burlington stores will be added in the next two weeks.
It's a bit run down now days but still has some good deals you can find and an ice cream shop near a fountain that is a nice place to enjoy it. No big name department stores though just a bunch of little mom and pop shops now.
