Mimi's Cafe

Easter dinner service at 6 PM Sunday evening with friends. Service staff were great. Full menu was missing, so we were asked to select from the brunch menu -- a little late in the day for that, or a 3 course menu.

Fortunately the manager allowed my wife to just order a bowl of the french onion soup -- since she didn't have the appetite to go with a 3 course meal. I ordered the salmon from the menu, and it was good, though the mashed potatoes and green beens were coffee shop quality. The caramel apple pie dessert was not heated throughout. A couple of our dining partners ordered the berry crumble, and that looked pretty good!

Another dining partner suggested that they go with the Easter brunch menu through mid-afternoon, and then offer the full menu in the evening. That likely would have improved the quality of the sides, since they'd be fresher, rather than left over from the brunch crowd earlier in the day.

So, Mimi's dipped into average territory Sunday evening, and I was expecting above-average. Might account why they weren't too busy for dinner as people learned they had a limited menu and left rather than being seated.

Super good! Amanda was our Waitress and she was awesome! It was very busy but Amanda didn't miss a beat. Very attentive and nice. Food was really good.
If only we didn't have to pay... :)

Food and service was great! They recently changed their menu . . No more sweet brown muffins in the bread basket! They are charging for what they were giving away for free for years! I tried the shrimp spinach salad with blueberries and strawberries ... Pretty good.

Our family always enjoys Mimi's. We always say we are going to try something new and then just order the pick 3 meal. The Madeline's are so good.

I politely asked my server for an extra napkin 4 times. He was polite back, but never brought it the first 3 times.
My friend and I both ordered a pot roast dish that although tasted fine, was pretty much liquid soup like gravy. This turned my small portion of mashed potatoes to also a soup like texture. Again, tasted fine but maybe they should give guests a spoon with this dish. I kept mine but my friend did ask for something else. Although we did complain, I believe we tried to do it in a nice way. Our server turned us over to another server. Maybe we should have just drank our meal and wiped out mouth with our sleeves.
