We came as a family for our Easter meal. The service was very good and the food was great! Excellent presentation. But, I give it 3 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons:
-despite the nice views, the noise was not ideal. The windows provide a block from winds, but the noise of the other tables echoes around. It was bad enough I had a hard time hearing the conversation at my own table
-several of the employees did not present themselves as though they worked at a high-end restaurant. The clothes were baggy, haircuts unkempt, and one waitress was wearing yoga pants. Really?
Even thought the dining is ‘indoor’ we had numerous flies hovering around.
Despite it beating Easter, and the fact that we could not get reservations at Ponte Winery restaurant, where we are members, I expected a similar finding at Calloway Winery’s Meritage. But, it was not booked out, and in fact, I thought it was surprisingly less busy than expected.
Too bad.
I think they need to educate their wait staff and employees some, and clean up the atmosphere inside the restaurant.
This place has a nice view and atmosphere. Try their chardonnay and pasta. Service was good.
Really enjoyed. Red Wine very nice. Will be back soon. Highly recommend the restraunt for foodies and those with above average expectations. Hidden gem in Temecula not to be missed. Beautiful sunset view. Picture below, does not serve justice. Enjoy!
Excellent food and artfully presented. Meritage has great views of the vineyard and surrounding hills. Meals are mostly intended as tapas; however, they do have some larger portions. Everything is farm-to-table.
It can be a bit pricey, but you're in wine country after all. Enjoy a glass or pairing of Callaway wines with your meal.
