I have been going here since they opened. The food is great and so is the service. There are a lot of unique dishes you might not find at other Mexican restaurants. Folsom needs more restaurants like this.
We are here around 4:30 on a Fri evening. The food was delish and came out hot and fast. We will go back based on this alone.
There are a few things that need to be addressed though. We walked in the place and it was sweltering hot. We are only in the end of April, but the afternoon sun was hitting the enough to heat it up like a greenhouse. They had the doors open and no efforts being made to keep the place cool. We asked them to put down the sun shades and turn up the AC, which they did without complaint. We just felt like this should have been standard.
The service also needs work. We were the only people in there to begin with. The guy waiting our table was totally oblivious to us and our needs. We had to flag him down several times to ask for stuff. He came by at the end to ask if we wanted boxes. Most of the plates were clean. My husband was still feeding our baby from one plate that still had food. He had just picked up a bite when the waiter took the plate out from under his fork! My husband had to grab the plate back. This guy seriously needs to learn how to read his table better.
I know this place is newer, so we will go back and hope for a better experience since the food is so good. I hope the owner reads this review. I suggest looking at your restaurant like a customer, sometimes that's what it takes to fix those minor things and really make your place shine.
I'm picky about my Mexican food since I'm Mexican American. The food was really good. Fresh and flavorful. The nacho plate was really good and the meat was perfect.
Second time here for great food. It's not cheap and there are no lunch or senior specials but food is fresh and flavorful. Chicken enchilada mole was delicious. Chicken inside was moist and tender. Full bar on one end, and a few outside tables but those just put you near the busy street. Nice place to eat overall.
Tonight was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was all good quality and delicious, especially the churro ice cream sandwich for dessert! The bar area looks cool with big barrels for tables. (While I'm talking about tables, I really loved the big wood slab tables in the dining area.) My kids ordered lemonade and it was fresh made! This could easily become a regular place for us.
