Gourmet Thai food! It was an sensory experience. Try ordering multiple appetizers! And Singha beer! Great staff!
This restaurant is on a corner, so it is very accessible. The outside of the store looks nice, and the interior decor is very trendy and pleasant. The food is excellent: very flavorful and varied in appeals. Where THAI falls short is the speed of service. It took 10-15 minutes to get glasses of water, and it took 35-40 minutes after that to receive our food. The staff is friendly, but somewhat fails to ensure you are taken care of. They do not give you the feeling of being rushed though, so that's a positive. Was a nice experience, but could have been better.
The decor is industrial chic--lots of hard services. Half-full the restaurant was moderately loud. If full it could be very loud. The waiter was a "trainee" but seemed well trained--service was good. The Tom ka soup was thin and lacking in ingredients, taste was unsubtle. The drunken noodles were excellent. My wife loved the crispy softshell crab special; I thought the excellent sauce overwhelmed the crab taste.
The aesthetic was amazing, inside and out the attention to detail and the modernization of the interior made the experience that much better. The service was decent, I think the bartender might have been overwhelmed that day? I ordered the Pineapple/Yellow Curry plate and only had 7 pieces of Pineapple in a massive mound of rice. My bf ordered a spicy meat dish that was only "ok". I want to give it one more try and see if that boosts my score. Otherwise, I would recommend it!
I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at THAI. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable yet modern. I’d ditch the televisions though. The service was excellent. The menu is different without many of the standards but fresh takes on Thai ingredients. My lunch special was delicious starting with the best dressed green salad I’ve had in Sacramento. My Brussels sprouts and pork belly main with side of rice was hugely satisfying. I’ll go again soon.
