Sacramento restaurant “grade inflation” is real, but this place could only earn 3 stars even on the Sacramento Curve. My main issue was that the ingredients were cheap, just low quality cheese, meat, and over seasoned - the soba noodles were doused in soy sauce, and the pizza was a gooey mess of plastic cheese. Coupled with very slow service on a Friday night (45 mins to get an appetizer), and minimum $16 glasses of wine - I left thinking “well, I wouldn’t recommend that to anyone.” Its a shame, as I am sure they can do better - but really need to elevate the menu, and improve the speed.
My wife and I were visiting from Oregon. We heard great things so we paid a visit. Kent (manager/chef) was phenomenal when it came to fixing a minor issue. The ambiance, tastes and drink are top level. I highly recommend to any and all.
Outside seating only so I'm sure all the comments around ambiance adding to the experience would be true if indoor seating was available. I do want to point out that we had excellent service. Personal, professional, and warm, that was really nice and appreciated.
Because of the proximity to the street, the table next to ours was egged by a passing car, but the staff really responded well and took great care of the guest. Kiddos.
That being said, we found the limited wine options way too expensive for the setting along with really subpar pizza. While the toppings on the pizza were actually pretty good the crust was laughably bad. The regular main dishes seemed interesting but didn't seem worth it. Coupling poor food with expensive wine and a mediocre experience would be a definite pass for me going back there. Seemed like there's a bunch of other better places in the area for my next time.
Celebrated a friend's birthday. Very classy, a nice place.
Cool atmosphere, service was friendly but painfully slow. The happy hour house wine was gross. The rest of the wine list was interesting and I enjoyed my glass. When you're lured in by the $5 happy hour wine on the sign outside but then can't get anything else for less than $16 a glass, I felt like I fell for a bait and switch.
