Great place to stop either going up the mountain or going home. Great service and food

My favorite spot to stop on the way down from the mountain. It's a little diner with all sorts of tasty food. The staff are always friendly and there's rarely a wait. The fried zucchini are particularly tasty, as are all the burgers.

The experience was excellent. The ladies working there were very welcoming and honestly I felt right at home there. Had the Ham Steak with scrambled eggs, with two sides of hashbrown and rye bread toasted. Would definently recommend!!!

Good old fashion small town food! And the Nutty Doodle coffee is awesome.

While the food isn't gourmet and the coffee is second rate, the wait staff is friendly and efficient. They remain attentive no matter how busy and sometimes, the place does get busy as it's the only restaurant in the area. Considering the difficulty of running a restaurant that gets intermittent, seasonal traffic, this place is really good. Breakfast is good and they have vegetarian options on their menu for all meals. The prices are what you would expect for an off-the-beaten path restaurant. I suggest you frequent The Oaks and tip generously to keep this convenient watering hole in business.
Update: The coffee has improved. It's now above average.
