Black Bear Diner Barstow

Stopped on the way from San Diego to Las Vegas. Food was good and everyone in our four person party enjoyed our meal. We ordered breakfast and dinner menu items. The cinnamon French toast was really delicious and flavorful. The restaurant was cold where we were seated in a booth, but the waitress noticed how chilly it was and had the temperature adjusted without even asking her to change it. Our wait time to be seated was reasonable and we got a to-go coconut cream pie for later. it looked so yummy. We couldn’t pass it up.

What A-blast from the past like the 27 years I worked at Denny's restaurants. My server Smith was very attentive to my needs. The cook Coordinated the kitchen very well And kept the food rolling out. The food was great as well as the bread pudding I took to go.
The restaurant was nice and clean also. I look forward to my next Black Bear Diner in my journeys.

This place was AMAZING!! Was on the road for two day with four kids. Just wanted some good old home style cooking and we found it. I had the pot roast. Amazing. totally stuffed. The kids all enjoyed it too. Seemed under staffed but kept up.

I gave four stars.

I would suggest, if your traveling with a family and are on a budget. Don't stop here.
Plenty of other places in the area that would be much friendlier on the wallet.
In this collapsing economy, restaurant's like this. Should be avoided.
