The Bear House Family Restaurant

Randomly found this place. We were driving and got hungry, saw the sign. We went in and we're greeted like locals. Great service! All of the wait staff seem to be taking care of your table. I was quite impressed! Oh, the food was great too! Too much for me to eat, but I tried.
I'm a restauranteur, I pay attention to the little things that matter.

I did not try their food, so this review is not based off that. I just had a nice hike to heart rock with my husband and 2 children and I reeeeally had to pee. We decided to stop here for me to run in giving their are not a lot of options before heading down the hill. I do get it, I understand some places require you to be a customer. I walk in and ask the male if I can use their restroom. He looked at me and with a "uh" look on his face and stated that they usually like it to be for customers only, but he said let me ask. He asked another lady and same thing she looked at me and questioned it (like tilted her head, trying to decide if she should let me) At this point I was a little embarrassed being it's an open restaurant and everyone was staring at this point. I told them if it's that big of a deal I'll just leave and I did. Even a man eating there said "She's with me." trying to sway their decision before they finally said yes. I'm not a dirty person, it was kinda a joke how long it took them to finally say yes. I would have felt better about the situation if they just told me no up front instead of having all of the stares. While writing this I still have to pee. ????

Took a snow day and stopped here for brunch. The restaurant is very clean, even the entry where everyone tracks in snow and mud etc. I love how attentive the waitresses were with our toddler, and how patient they were while we tried to decide what to eat. Everything looked great!

Once the food came the proportions are great! The cost wasn't bad at all. Now the food itself I found a little bland.. after adding salsa and salt it was better but I'd prefer not having to add anything. I was surprised because the food looked like it was full of flavor with the sausage and cheese and the browning on the side of the potatoes etc.

My son had french toast and that was good! No syrup needed but it was more for him than me lol.

We will definitely be stopping here next time we're in the area to try something else on the menu.

Wonderful, warm, friendly staff. I could see there were quite a few frequent patrons. I ordered the big bear burrito and my eyes damn near popped out when they brought it to me, it was massive! I opted for the "smother it in gravy!" And was not disappointed. We enjoyed a large mimosa that definitely started our morning off right! Wonderful place! (Great prices!) We will definitely be back!

We came to this area to shop at the nearby antique and thrift shops. Our family loved this restaurant. The people working here are so friendly as are the customers. We are new to the mountain and this restaurant has a truly welcoming environment. As for the food, my family enjoyed everything we ordered. We will definitely come back.
