The hotel was nice, the room was average but smelled like someone had been recently smoking in it when we arrived. Overall it was clean. Our biggest upset was they asked for $100 deposit that took 2 weeks to get back. They would not accept a cash deposit. I had to call numerous times because they would not release the funds, each time having to spend a half hour just getting the right person. My husband used his card and they wanted to speak to him directly which was unnerving as I'm the one who takes care of the finances.. We make several trips a year down to visit friends and relatives but this was our first time staying with San Manuel. Because of the deposit issues I doubt we will stay again. The casino is small and games are old. Hubby plays the tables and had much better luck than I but was not won over enough to want to return..
My stay was pretty good for the most part. It was very capable of getting a 5 star review from me but do to some details like tissue not being replaced when we checked in and house keeping having failed to clean the room all together for night number two. Staff was sent right away to correct the issues. On that note staff seems very polite and friendly. Room service could a menu adjust but we did enjoy what we ordered off the kids section. If you are anything like myself you will enjoy the Walmart, Ross, and other stores in the shopping center walking distance away.
Let me begin by saying I really wanted to give this place stars, and as far as the friendliness and efficiency of the staff - they are off the charts!!! The shuttle that runs every 30 min to San Manuel is truly a bonus! My issue is with the room. Although the sliding door is space saving and contemporary, it does not provide adequate privacy. The walls are either thin or not well incident, as I was are to clearly hear my neighbor's TV deep into the wee hours. All this being said, this room was comped for me by the casino. I did not pay a cent. If the offer was extended again, of course I would stay. I can deal with bathroom and noise. If I were a paying g customer, however, I would want to know these things before booking.
For being so new, the room was surprisingly dirty. There was so much dust on the glass-topped TV stand that I could draw pictures. the sliding glass door in the shower would not stay closed, resulting in a floor that got drenched with water. The bed was super comfy and the pillows were so perfect that I took a picture of the tag so I could buy my own.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great rooms very clean all around especially the restroom. The food is good. The bar tender makes some great lemon drops. I will definitely be coming back. As for the service great!
