It's a shame what has happened to De Garcia's. First of all, the facts. I have eaten at hundreds of Mexican restaurants in numerous states, and I'd say that the food is average to above average. Some of it is even phenomenal (try a Papa Burrito; you'll be hard pressed to find salsa ranchera as good as that anywhere). And the prices? Amazing. If you can find a more reasonably priced place for the quality, I'll be surprised (I can think of two, but one is in Utah and the other in Kansas). Yes, you may find the place a little dingy and quiet, and the silverware might have a speck of something that dried and hardened on it. Big deal. If you are so snooty to make those factors in a restaurant's quality, then please, keep your opinions to yourself and go somewhere else. This is a SMALL TOWN RESTAURANT. It always has been, and always will be. Sure, you may have to wait a while to get your food when they are busy, but that's the nature of the beast. If you can accept that, I suggest you come at a reasonable time, like when there aren't too many cars in the parking lot (not really an issue these days due to all the libel and exaggerated bad-mouthing). Have a seat. Ask about their signature dishes and give one a try. Bring a book and enjoy the peace and quiet, and the chips and salsa, while you wait (the green sauce is amazing). And when your food arrives, I guarantee you will have a culinary experience like nowhere else. Something that you will remember for years to come, long after Phelan and De Garcia's have been left far behind.

I attended for a birthday party, food wad amazingly delicious, place was very clean, owner was an amazing host! Definitely going back to eat and might even plan a party there????

Glad we came back to try the food again. The food was excellent and so was the service. Ate there again this morning for mothers day. Home made flan, best I've ever had. Give them a try
