Pleasantly surprised! We had been to this site previously under prior ownership ... it had been a typical 'greasy spoon.' Things have been elevated! Still a bucket load of comfort food on the menu but it's minus the 'greasy' part! We were here at Breakfast time while having our car serviced up the street (at The Auto Shop, a honest-to-goodness HONEST mechanic, Al Davis). Greeting was very friendly. Server Brian proved to be a pleasure. We decided to split the Chicken Fried Steak & eggs plate as we had heard that the portion sizes here were quite generous. As our meal arrived, it had already been split in the Kitchen onto two plates and both were visually appealing. The food was fresh and tasty. Even though Brian brought us steak knives, they weren't necessary as we could cut through they protein with our forks. The biscuits & gravy were spot on and the home fries are a winner. Can't wait to try other menu items! We'll surely schedule our next car service accordingly!
Hands down best restaurant I've been to for breakfast. From the warm, friendly service, to the super delicious food and coffee. Stop by if you're in the area! Or even if you're quite a ways out! You won't regret it!????
This place was awesome. We had 8 in our party which made it take a little longer. The staff was great and everyone really enjoyed their food ....i had the Cali burger add pastrami and fried zucchini. .AWESOME .....I WOULD highly recommended ....
I really like to seek out nice 'hole in the wall', intimate restaurants. Nothing wrong with small town feel, I say, where the people are friendly and you're valued when you walk through the door. This was exactly my experience this past Saturday morning. Our waiter was outstandingly friendly and attentive to details. We took his advice on the house favorites and were not disappointed: Chicken Fried Steak and Meat Lover's Breakfast Burrito with chorizo added. Give this small place a try.
I've driven past this location thousands of times in my years as a local but never ventured in because I thought it would be claustrophobic inside. Today, we decided to try it out and I was definitely pleasantly surprised. This is the kind of place where regulars are greeted by name. The portions are huge and delicious. I tried. I really put my all into devouring every bite but I had to throw in the towel midway through. The inside is spacious. The 11 tables are not squashed together and the counter has low comfy seats.
One warning though, the building is old and so the bathrooms are small. I don't think it will be a problem for most people but if you're limited in mobility or using a walker or wheelchair, you may have difficulty using the bathroom. That's really the only concern I can see, but it might be a big concern if you really need to "go".
I still highly recommend this place.
