Had dinner Monday 3/21 for the first time. Great service and the place looks really good. Limited menu still during the soft opening but some good choices. We had both of the daily specials - wet carnitas burrito and a fish burrito. Both were great and came with tasty rice and beans. $5 happy hour margaritas were fresh and good. I enjoyed everything about our spontaneous visit - food, service, ambiance, and price were all top notch. Happy to have another spot in the area!
Went yesterday, it is a soft opening. Drinks are yummy, and we had the Calamari , which was excellent by the way. From my understanding the menu will expand after about a month.
Z-Cafe Restaurant is a very yummy restaurant as well, bought this new Z- South restaurant. Good vibes last night, and we will continue to go.
Great new spot!
Service was great - waiter very attentive and friendly. Very limited menu, so not many choices and a little pricey for the quality of food and location of restaurant. Not sure if it’s the style of regional cooking. Hopefully they’ll improve their food and it’s taste. Seems with the redesign of the restaurant that they are more centered around the bar and sports theme over a family Mexican restaurant
Some “hits” and “misses”
“Hits” - my husbands enchilada was really great, the presentation of the street taco’s was colorful and hopeful of an equally tasty meal. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL!
“Misses” - The Brussels sprouts! I have never seen a vegetable so abused. They came out looking like baby scallops, brown. They were SOAKED in oil and mushy and flavorless. There was TOO MUCH orange sauce spread on them, It was the worst dish I’ve ever had.
The tacos were flavorless, pretty to look at, but missing some acid (citrus juice?) and other flavors. Again, too much orange sauce. Less is better :)
There was a guac/sour cream dip that was also bland. Blending two bland sauces makes for a bland hybrid sauce, again, maybe add some citrus?
I understand this is a new business, we look forward to trying it again in the future.
